The story setup

The footage follows Jason and Lucia through Vice City and beyond. It opens with the pair turning up at a run-down building to collect something, a deal that goes bad. Other segments show Lucia's apartment, city streets, the swamps and a party in a high-rise building.

Gameplay features shown

Switching between Jason and Lucia

You can swap between the two protagonists, including during a mission. One sequence showed one character driving during a chase while the other took over from the passenger seat. Coverage reported that missions can be played as either character, together or apart.

Robberies

The pair robbed convenience stores and gas stations, with one character holding up the store while the other waited in the getaway car. GamingBible noted that shopkeepers can fight back. Before one robbery, a character used a clothing wheel to put on a mask.

Combat

Shootouts used cover behind walls and furniture. Jason showed a slow-motion aiming ability that highlights weak points on enemies. Kotaku spotted the reticle flashing red for a kill and yellow for what looked like a non-lethal hit, which suggests you can incapacitate enemies, though Rockstar hasn't explained it.

Car theft and driving

Kotaku reported that stealing a car involves jimmying the lock in a short mini-game, and that some cars have trackers or need their key fobs cloned. TheWrap noted heavier traffic, and GamingBible highlighted more realistic driving, with visible suspension movement under acceleration and braking.

Interacting with people and places

A context menu let the characters talk to people and interact with animals, including petting dogs. Coverage compared it to Red Dead Redemption 2's system. At home, Jason grabbed food from the fridge, and the apartment had other small interactions like lights and TV.

Wanted system

VGC noted that the area police are searching now shows as a circle on the map, instead of GTA 5's individual police icons on the minimap. Rockstar didn't explain the full system in the video.

What's still unclear

  • Cutscene or gameplay? Some moments, such as the workout, may have been cutscenes.
  • How systems work. Several mechanics, including the reticle colors and the wanted circle, were shown without explanation.
  • Exact runtime. Outlets reported different lengths, so treat "about 26 minutes" as approximate.
