Trailer 1 — December 4, 2023
Summary: the first look at Vice City and the state of Leonida, introducing Lucia and Jason, with Lucia as the series' first female lead.
Rockstar had scheduled the trailer for Tuesday, December 5, 2023. A low-resolution copy leaked on social media the evening before, so Rockstar put the official version on YouTube early, on December 4. The trailer named a 2025 release window and PS5 and Xbox Series X|S as platforms. The game was later delayed, and it now releases on November 19, 2026.
Trailer 2 — May 6, 2025
Summary: a surprise story trailer that puts Jason and Lucia front and centre and sets up the botched job that drags them into a wider conspiracy across Leonida.
Rockstar dropped Trailer 2 with no advance warning, shortly after announcing the game's first delay. The end of the trailer notes the footage was captured on PS5. Rockstar later said it was its biggest video launch ever.
An Extended Look — August 27, 2026
Summary: a roughly 26-minute gameplay presentation showing open-world activities, police chases and the new systems, captured on PS5.
"Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look" premiered on Netflix on August 27, 2026, and went up on Rockstar's YouTube channel and the GTA VI website later that day. The YouTube version is age-restricted, so it can't be embedded here — watch it on YouTube. This is the video where outlets spotted the six-star wanted level, the heat system and the body and fitness mechanics.
Launch Trailer — October 15, 2026
Summary: a short story-focused trailer centred on Jason and Lucia's relationship, set to an original song from the game's score.
The Launch Trailer arrived about five weeks before release. It debuts "Flower in a Hurricane" by Justice, who composed the original score, featuring Tame Impala, SZA and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard. It was captured on PS5 and is the video embedded at the top of this page.
