Rockstar has announced that GTA 6 pre-load begins on November 10, 2026 for digital pre-orders, two days earlier than the November 12 date reported before. On PS5 it opens at local midnight; on Xbox Series X|S it opens globally at 12 a.m. GMT, which is 4 p.m. PT / 7 p.m. ET on November 9.
Rockstar's installation requirements say the game needs up to 212 GB of free space, depending on your device. That's a little above the 210 GB that leaked in late October. A day-one update could still add to it.
Rockstar's support page (updated November 3) says the game unlocks at local midnight on November 19 in all regions on both consoles. Pre-loading only downloads the game, so you can't play early. Physical copies contain a download code and reach retailers from November 12.
GTA 6 is not coming to PC at launch, and no PS4, Xbox One, mobile or Switch 2 version has been announced.
