The 210 GB figure appeared on October 27–28, 2026. It comes from PlayStation Game Size, a social media account that reads PlayStation Store data and has been accurate before, and Insider Gaming said it could corroborate it. Rockstar, Sony and Microsoft haven't published an official size, and a day-one update could change the final number.
We'll replace this table with the real sizes as soon as they show up on the PlayStation Store and Xbox Store — most likely when pre-load opens on November 12.
How much space do you have?
Consoles have less usable space than the number on the box. These are approximate figures for each console's built-in SSD:

If you're on an Xbox Series S or an original PS5, expect to delete or move a few games before November 12.
Can you play GTA 6 from external storage?
PS5: Sony's support page says PS5 games can't be played directly from USB extended storage. You can park other PS5 games on a USB drive to free up space, then copy them back later. The other option is an M.2 SSD installed in the console's expansion slot, which works like internal storage.
Xbox Series X|S: games built for Series X|S have to run from the internal SSD or an official Storage Expansion Card. A regular USB drive can store them, but not play them. Older Xbox One games can still run from USB, so moving those off the internal drive is an easy way to make room.

- Check free space on your internal SSD (or M.2 / expansion card).
- Aim for well over 210 GB free to leave room for a day-one update.
- Move older or finished games to a USB drive instead of deleting them.
